Velasco Family Nativity Scene: A Half-Century Tradition in Villamuñío

The Velasco family Nativity Scene in Villamuñío (Calle Nueva, 39) celebrates half a century of tradition, now has more than two hundred animated pieces and receives more than a thousand visitors a year.

The oldest pieces are carved in wood, the plaster ones were the transition until we found that forespán was easier to mold, very light and easy to paint and give it life.

Visiting hours coincide when Manuel or his family are at home. “We are always around here,” he emphasizes. In the mornings from eleven to two and in the afternoons from four to eight, “for example,” although he recognizes that “more than one day and two, it gets longer!”

Below we leave you the photos, its complete story in this link.
