Vegadigital Teatro de Pocas Luces and Claroscuro Teatro premiere proposals at the 38th edition of Palma Feria de Artes Escénicas de Andalucía

The Teatro de Pocas Luces company will premiere at the Palma Fair its montage ‘The Puppets of Little Red Riding Hood’, a proposal that has the presence of Gaspare Nasuto in the direction and dramaturgy, considered one of the great masters of the Neapolitan puppet tradition and possibly one of the most internationally recognized puppet artists.

Another of the great novelties of this edition is the re-release of ‘Yo soy la locura’, a co-production by the Compañía Claroscuro and the Teatro de la Maestranza, with the collaboration of the Council of Arts and Letters of Quebec. ‘Yo soy la locura’ is a black theater play with puppets, masks and Spanish and American baroque music from the Golden centuries and tells a story with historical background: when Hernán-

Cortés left in 1519 to conquer the Aztec Empire, not only was he accompanied by soldiers, but two puppeteers and some musicians traveled with him as described by Bernal Díaz del Castillo in his True History of the Conquest of New Spain written in 1568. From these historical events, it has been tried to remember them, without any intention of recreating or reconstructing anything, but rather of transmitting to the spectators, children and adults, that there were people who dreamed and lived passions at a critical moment in history .

‘Almavera’ is the new staging of Títeres Etcétera, which has been passionate and innovative in puppet theater for four decades and offers on this occasion a creation committed to tradition, art and dialogue with the family audience. ‘Almavera’ is a production conceived for outdoor spaces, with collaborations such as Jan Fité in the musical composition and Itziar Pascual in the dramaturgical consultancy.-

Ángel Calvente’s Black Mirror with its peculiar style of corrosive and mocking language, will also be present with his latest creation, ‘Cris, little brave’, a show for young people from 6 to 106 years old dedicated to all transgender people in the world, who It is endorsed with the Fetén Prize 2021

to the best show.

PROGRAMMING ADVANCE

Along with these companies, we must add the confirmed presence of three other Andalusian companies, which will also be present in the Palma Fair program: La Zaranda with the show ‘The battle of the absent’; Atalaya Teatro with ‘Elektra.25 ‘; and Histrión Teatro with ‘El mueble’.-

After the 37th edition marked by the COVID pandemic, Palma Feria de Artes Escénicas de Andalucía begins a renewal process this year that begins with the change to autumn of the date of celebration, after three decades taking place during the summer.

In addition, this year it is also intended to strengthen the market aspect and professional activities, with various initiatives with the aim of facilitating contact and nexus between professionals in the performing arts. And, of course, it will continue to bet on presenting quality, plural and diverse programming, both in genres, trends and artists, of Andalusian production, but also opening the

programming to national and international proposals.

Likewise, the Feria de Palma organization wants to reinforce its commitment to safety and also joins the #TeatroSeguro program, sending a message of confidence to the spectators, guaranteeing a pleasant and totally safe experience for the public. The health measures implemented will be kept updated at all times as dictated by the medical authorities.
