23 teams from four Latvian leagues will take part in the tournament, which will resume after a 26-year break. In all rounds up to the semi-finals, the winners will be determined in the sum of two games. The final game is scheduled for February 13.
Taking into account the sporting and geographical aspects, the teams will be divided into several baskets before the draw and will be involved in the fight for the cup at different stages.
“VEF Rīga”, which will also start in the FIBA Champions League next season, will start the Latvian Cup from the semi-finals.
Eight teams will participate in the first round: BC “Liepāja” / LSSS and BJBS “Rīga” playing in the National League, Ramecent Regional League teams Iecavas “Dartija”, BC “Cēsis” / Cēsis Sports School, BS “Tukums” / TSS, Rugāju SC and BC “Krāslava” / Sports school, as well as Maximibasball 40+ group champions “Garkalne runči”.
In the second round, eight Ramirent National League teams will take part in the fight: BC “Jelgava”, “Gulbene buki”, OC “Limbaži”, BC “Saldus”, “Kandava / Anzāģe”, BC “Ķekava”, RTU and “VEF Basketball Academy in Valka “.
