In the previous two league games against the same opponents, the “Vefians” have better scored two-point shots (58.6% against 44.3% of Lithuanians), but have worn three-point shots (38.5% against 45.7%) and penalties (63% against 78 %) shots.

The Rigans fought better under the baskets (40 rebounds against 32), blocked more throws (four against two in the game), but less caught the ball (four times against six) and played successfully (17 against 18).

Last season, “VEF Rīga” debuted in the FIBA ​​Champions League, in group C with one success in 14 games in the last place, while “Peristeri” in the same group in the fourth place.

“VEF Rīga” last participated in Old Continent club tournaments in the 2014/2015 season, when it played in the ULEB Eurocup.

The elimination tournament will be achieved by the two best teams from each subgroup.

The fifth season is taking place in the Champions League tournament, and only “Ventspils” team from Latvia have participated in this competition before. In the first year, Ventspils entered the first round of the playoffs, ranking fifth and sixth in the group for the next two seasons and continuing the fight in the FIBA ​​European Cup.

Also this year, competitions were planned in four groups of eight teams, the best four of which will advance to the next round, but the Covid-19 pandemic has forced the organizers to decide to cut the groups in half.

Due to Covid-19, the 2019/2020 season was completed only at the end of September – beginning of October, when the winner of the competition “bubble” in Athens was Burgos “San Pablo”, who played against the home AEK in the final with 85:74.
