[Tilu News]The Vietnam Division of the “League of Legends” professional league (VCS) suddenly experienced a serious anti-match fixing incident. The VCS official announced the ban list of up to 32 players yesterday (28th), involving all 8 VCS teams. The relevant players will be banned from participating in the event until the investigation is completed. The official stated that it will continue to investigate this incident and the subsequent results or punishments will be further announced.

Suspicions of match-fixing have recently spread in the VCS. On the 18th of this month, the organizer suddenly decided to cut off the regular season events of this spring split and announced that it would launch an investigation into whether all eight participating teams had engaged in match-fixing. The official announced the preliminary investigation results yesterday (28th) that 32 players will be temporarily banned from participating, and stated that if the players are dissatisfied with the relevant decisions, they can appeal.

All participating teams in the VCS have been affected by this incident. Except for Levi from GAM Esports, junglers from all teams are on the banned list. In order to ensure the smooth progress of the spring playoffs, which kicked off on April 3, officials issued the latest announcement today (29th), announcing that participating teams can find new players to fill the vacancies during the period when players are suspended.

However, this is not the first time a match-fixing scandal has occurred in VCS games. In August last year, SBTC Esports (SE) in this division was also investigated for suspected match-fixing. In the end, all players except the support player Palette were sentenced to a 36-month ban, and the team leader was also banned from participating in the competition for life.

VCS officials stated that they will continue to investigate this incident and emphasized that “any behavior that affects the fairness of the event will never be allowed.” If there are subsequent results or penalties, they will be announced later.
