Vasco and Maicon reached an agreement and renewed the contract for another year. The parties agreed on a new contract until December 2024.
The agreement was defined this Friday with the player’s representatives. Maicon is traveling on his honeymoon and will sign the new contract upon his return to Brazil.
Hired in July, Maicon did not reach the game target stipulated in the contract for automatic renewal, but he was very close. That’s why the parties had to sit down to negotiate a new bond.

Without space with Ramón Díaz when the Argentine coach took over Vasco, Maicon gained the trust of the technical committee on a daily basis and ended up being a fundamental piece for the club’s permanence in Serie A. He ended the year as a starter, with good performances, forming defense duo with Medel.
Maicon, 35 years old, arrived at Vasco in July. He played 16 matches for the club in the Brazilian Championship.
