Former postal boss Jean-Paul Van Avermaet pleaded innocent on Wednesday afternoon in the American investigation into prohibited market agreements in the security sector when he was country manager at the G4S group.
According to observers, it is not illogical that Van Avermaet pleads innocent in this phase. He has not yet had access to the file and therefore does not know exactly which statements were made against him.
A number of his former employees have already pleaded guilty and made incriminating statements. Van Avermaet seems to want to take note of this first.
