On Sunday there was a downwind for the second time in Patrick Colson’s plantation in Dilsen-Stokkem. Downwind winds are suddenly advancing fierce winds that fall vertically from the sky at great speed, often accompanied by rain and hail. Fruit grower Patrick Colson: “We already had a setback last Monday, when there was a first downwind. Then up to 400 fruit trees fell, which we were able to restore. But the day before yesterday the damage was greater, when an entire 1.5 hectare plantation was destroyed. Everywhere there are holes in the ground, trees that have fallen and wires that are broken. It’s real havoc. ”
