Valve to give digital card game Artifact ‘bigger reboot’ – Gaming – News

Valve is working on a major metamorphosis of his digital card game Artifact. Internally, the project is even called ‘Artifact 2’. The release of this renewed or completely new game would also not be very far in the future.

Valve leader Gabe Newell speaks of a ‘bigger reboot’ of the game, which originally appeared in November of 2018. He also says that the development team is ‘preparing for release’, which strongly suggests that it will not be long before this renewed game appears. At the same time, Friday became one update posted on the Artifact product page announcing that players may “notice changes.”

Valve reported in March of last year that it was going to focus on bigger updates instead of smaller ones. However, the fact that these adjustments would be so large that there is internal Artifact 2 is new, as is the appearance that this metamorphosis will not be long in coming.

“GabeN” calls Artifact an “interesting failure”: “We ran an experiment, we got a negative result and now we have to see what we learned from it. So we try again. We look at the reaction to the game and wonder: what was wrong with the product and how did it happen? “

Newell has communicated that the changes to Artifact will be significant. What is not yet clear is whether this is a completely new game, or a metamorphosis of the existing game. Given the announcement on the product page of the current Artifact, the latter seems more likely.

Newell shared that and more in an interview with gaming magazine Edge. That edition of the magazine is only available from Monday, but sister site GamesRadar + has one shorter news item placed over.
