Valle parish z/s “Zemgaļi” invests more than 230 thousand euros in the development of the farm – BauskasDzive.lv

The “Zemgaļi” farm of Valles parish of Bauska region has invested more than 230 thousand euros in the modernization of the farm. Together with the Rural Support Service and “Swedbank”, the funds obtained were invested in the purchase of new equipment, “Swedbank” representative Jānis Krops informed the portal.

The sprayer and seed drill will allow to increase the amount of the realized production, using the latest technologies available in agriculture. “Currently, we see that it is essential to modernize economic activity by expanding the range of crop-growing equipment and introducing precise agricultural technologies. Attracting financing allows us to take this step confidently and thoughtfully to ensure the development of the farm,” says Jānis Zvirbulis, the owner of the “Zemgaļi” farm.

“Zemgali” farm manages an area of ​​more than 300 hectares for the production of crop production. Winter and summer wheat, winter and summer barley, hybrid winter rye are mainly grown here, and peas are also grown to ensure crop rotation.

“Modern technologies and precision agriculture become the basis for efficient operation in the countryside, because in this way it is possible to increase the return from each managed hectare. The investments made will improve not only the economic performance and competitiveness of the farm “Zemgali”, but will also ensure an investment in mitigating the negative impact of climate change,” says Rolands Zeltiņš, head of the agricultural direction of the enterprise service department of “Swedbank”.

The farm “Zemgaļi” was founded in 1992 and its owner is Jānis Zvirbulis. The farm worked with a turnover of almost 300 thousand euros and a profit of 84 thousand euros for the past financial year.
