This Thursday they arrived in the country 730,300 doses of vaccines against covid-19 from the Modern American laboratory. In this regard, Claudia Cuéllar, Vice Minister of Health (e), indicated that the biologicals came through the Covax mechanism, whose objective is “to guarantee fair and equitable access to vaccines for all countries in the world.”

“This vaccine from this laboratory is intended for everyone over 12 years of age,” Cuéllar recalled, who reiterated the importance that all citizens start and complete the vaccination schedules and apply the booster doses according to the provisions of the Ministry of Health.

In this sense, he invited citizens to continue approaching the different vaccination points enabled in the country to continue advancing in the execution of the National Vaccination Plan against covid-19 and recalled that “The fourth dose in Colombia is already approved for people over 50 years of age.”
According to the available scientific evidence, Cuéllar reiterated the need for those who meet the age requirements and four months have already passed since the application of the booster dose attend vaccination points to improve protection against the virus.

Finally, the Vice Minister of Health (e) mentioned that with this batch, the country has received a total of 96,638,854 doses from all laboratories. As for the Covax mechanism, the total number of doses received is 18,085,180. And, in the case of the Moderna laboratory, a total of 17,010,940 doses have arrived in Colombia.
