“Vaccination Day at Caracas Metro Stations for Vaccination Week of the Americas”

For the Vaccination Week of the Americas, from May 22 to 29, a vaccination day is carried out in 13 stations of the Caracas Metro.

Propatria is one of them, where on the morning of this Tuesday, May 23, people who wanted to be immunized lined up to be treated. Only on the first day they attended to about 100 patients.

Pentavalent, tetanus diphtheria toxoid, SR, SRP, polio and anticovid, are the vaccines that are given at the points that are in the Metro stations.

For this Tuesday, May 23, neither in Plaza Venezuela nor in Chacaíto were the vaccination points. According to police officers from these stations, they had not yet arrived, but it was already past noon.

At the Miranda subway station, three nurses were waiting for people to start their working day, which includes hours from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

«We work continuously; That’s why we’re here until one, because then we’re going to have lunch. This journey will last 21 days,” said nurse Omaira Lugo.

Although they were announced by the Ministry of Health, there are no yellow fever or BCG vaccines at these provisional points.

“These vaccines are mostly placed in health centers, because you have to have a specific number of people who are going to be immunized to open the boxes where the vaccine comes,” said Valentina González, a nurse at the vaccination point at the Palo Verde station. .

At this terminal, at noon this Tuesday, there were approximately 100 people who had been vaccinated with diphtheria toxoid and about 45 against covid.

“Most come to get the fourth dose against the covid. It is very rare for someone to come with less than three doses already,” González said.

The stations where they are vaccinating are: Propatria, Gato Negro, Plaza Venezuela, Chacaíto Miranda, Petare, Palo Verde and Cable train Petare II (line 1).
