From the time the referee blew the whistle to signal the start of the game, Uzbekistan seemed to be pressing. They attacked the Malaysian defense from the start of the game.

Just nine minutes into the game, Malaysia suffered a disaster after Syahir Bashah brought down the Uzbek striker in the restricted box. Jasurbek Jaloliddinov who was named as substitute managed to do his job well to give Uzbekistan a 1-0 lead.

This goal made Uzbekistan more confident in attack. Malaysia, who were trying to recover, still struggled to overcome Uzbekistan’s pressure, so the score remained 1-0 at half-time.

In the second half the course of the game did not change much. Uzbekistan dominated the game while Malaysia struggled to mount attacks.

Malaysia’s goal was broken again in the 83rd minute. Using a pass from Norchaev, Uzbekistan’s substitute Ulugbek Khoshimov successfully slotted the ball into the Malaysian goal. The score remained 2-0 until the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of the game.
