Utut PDIP Invites Ganjar to Run for Presidential Candidate Through Another Party

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

deputy of General secretaty PDI Perjuangan, Utut Adianto invited the Governor of Central Java, Pranowo reward advance from other parties, if you want to run as a presidential candidate (candidate) for the next 2024.

According to Utut, this was also conveyed by the Chairman of the PDIP Election Winning Body (Bappilu), Bambang Wuryanto last May, and he did not want to repeat Bambang’s statement.

“In that case, Mas Pacul’s opinion will be heard on May 25, Tuesday. If you want to come forward, other parties are welcome. Mas Pacul has already answered. repeat again,” said Utut at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Monday (14/6).

Bambang Wuryanto alias Bambang Pacul, on May 25 mentioned the story of former PDIP cadre Rustriningsih who moved to another political party when asked about Ganjar. Rustriningsih moved not long after Megawati called her cadre a heroine.

“But when Rustriningsih moved to another political party, were you angry or not?” I don’t know how you feel, but did you say that you were angry? Nothing,” said Ganjar at the time.

Utut’s statement also responded to the survey results of Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) which stated that Ganjar still had a chance to win without the support of PDIP voters.

SMRC Program Manager, Saidiman Ahmad said he issued the survey following a polemic within the PDIP regarding the possibility that Ganjar might not be promoted by his party.

“Ganjar got 35.3 percent of the votes, Prabowo 30.8 percent, and Anies 25.5 percent,” Saidiman said in his presentation, Sunday (13/6).

Meanwhile, Member of the DPR RI from the PDIP faction, Hendrawan Supratikno, was reluctant to comment much on the results of the SMRC survey. According to him, the survey was issued only to enliven the political contestation in the midst of handling the pandemic which should be of public concern.

“Survey institutions continue to beat the drums, and many parties, including the media, participate in dancing for it. The political industry is getting hot. Even though we should focus on handling the pandemic and national economic recovery,” Hendrawan told reporters. CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (14/6).
