Use of drones in precision agriculture, axis of the II Emerdrone Congress

Huelva, Apr 28 (EFE).- The use of drones in precision agriculture will be one of the main axes of the II Congress of Drones in simulated emergency situations, Emerdrone, which will be held in Huelva next week with more than 300 professionals registered and an extensive program of presentations and workshops.

The vice-president, Juan Antonio García, and the person in charge of Alaire pilots and coordinator of the Congress, Blanca Vera, presented the event today, in which more than a dozen companies in the sector participate, in disciplines as diverse as safety, rescue , fire protection.

According to the vice-president, the Congress is “an interesting and very attractive event, with more than 300 registered professionals, who will be able to attend in person”.

But due to the interest aroused by this congress, Internet platforms are also incorporated that the Huelva Provincial Council makes available to the sector and that will allow connection from any device or through the YouTube channel and follow the exhibition live.

García has highlighted the interest raised in Latin America, with registrations from Bogotá, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala or Peru, giving an international dimension to the conference and highlighting the interest in this topic.

Vera has indicated that one of the main axes of the congress is the use of drones in precision agriculture, highlighting that some advantages, both economically for the farmer, such as greater efficiency and precision in fumigation or fertilization, monitoring of large plots, or pest control.

Fruit picking is another activity in which drones are beginning.

During the congress, a large number of conferences will also be given by highly qualified speakers and six practical emergency workshops will be held for professionals.

Recognition will also be given to outstanding companies in the work and development of this new industry, for being a pioneer in implementing Artificial Intelligence for rescue, for using one hundred percent Spanish technology or for developing mass control and security systems.

Spain is among the ten world powers and Andalusia, as the second benchmark community in the drone sector, both in operators and pilots, and of the more than 3,000 national operators, approximately 20% are Andalusian. EFE
