WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) – In the US, crude oil inventories fell more than expected in the past week. The reserves fell by 6.1 million barrels to 493.5 million barrels, as the US Department of Energy announced on Wednesday in Washington. Economists had expected a decrease of 3.1 million barrels.
Gasoline inventories fell by 1.2 million to 236.6 million barrels. The stocks of distillates (heating oil, diesel) rose by 3.1 million to 152.0 million barrels. Oil production remained at 11.0 million barrels a day.
