Neither Pence nor US President Donald Trump had “close contact” with the employee, a spokeswoman for the Vice President said in Washington on Friday. United States President Donald Trump had had the corona virus tested last week after being in contact with several representatives of the Brazilian presidential delegation, who were later found to be infected. Trump’s doctor said the test was negative. Trump only approved the test after some hesitation and is heavily criticized for his very late-onset corona virus crisis management.
The coronavirus spreads rapidly in the United States. According to new information from Johns Hopkins University, more than 16,600 cases of infection were counted there. In addition, at least 216 deaths were registered – more than twice as many as three days ago. After New York and California, the US state of Illinois also imposed drastic measures against the virus with the city of Chicago.
