Government Turkey rumored to want to change the iconic structure, Hagia Sophia back to being a mosque.
Since 1930, the ancient building in the city of Istabul was used as a museum. Hagia Sophia also becomes the main attraction for tourists who come to Turkey.

The plan to turn Hagia Sophia into a mosque has actually been touted since last year, when President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made it his goal during the general election.
Hearing the plan, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo wants Hagia Sophia’s status as a museum to be maintained.
Pompeo also added that the status had been recognized by UNESCO, because it became part of world history in Istanbul.
