(VOVWORLD) – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met this Sunday with King Abdullah II of Jordan and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi to discuss solutions that could end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Antony Blinken insisted on the need to ease tensions, reduce civilian casualties and increase humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.
For his part, King Abdullah II of Jordan stressed the importance of the United States’ role in urging Israel to immediately rejoin the ceasefire agreement. He also warned of dire consequences if the conflict between Hamas and Israel continues.
