Despite the declines, manufacturers and retailers are doing everything they can to boost sales, including increasing holiday promotions. We’ve seen several great deals being offered during the week of Black Friday and Cyber Monday and they’ll likely keep coming until the last minute. Then, of course, there’s the after-holiday sale, because everyone’s going to need something to spend their gift cards and new money on.

Brian Lynch, research analyst at Canalys frequent the US PC market faces new headwinds despite the fourth-quarter holiday season. Cash-strapped consumers are expected to continue to cut spending on expensive tech products, which will cause retail inventory to grow faster than sales. The education sector is expected to begin a slow recovery next year, but most device upgrades are now expected to occur in 2024.
