However, if they are true and he can no longer be in charge after 18 years of permanent rule, then events can unfold under Article 106 of the Turkish Constitution. This means that Vice President Fuat Oktay will take over the presidential responsibilities, and the elections will be organized in 45 days. The Americans have named several alleged successors to Erdogan, including Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavash and Good Party politician Meral Aksener.
Interestingly, after the publication of Foreign Policy, 67-year-old Recep Tayyip Erdogan posted a video of a basketball game. However, it would have been better if he had not done so – it is really difficult for him to stand on the court and at the same time jump in rhythm with the ball.
