US Makes Hypersonic Missile Threat a Reason for Military Expansion

BEIJING – United States of America (US) accused of deliberately exaggerating test report hypersonic missile which is conducted China in order to justify military expansion and continue its hegemony. The accusation was made by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said Beijing firmly opposes the US continuing to exaggerate China’s threat theory. He stated that Beijing’s only interest was self-defense, and claimed he would not engage in a nuclear arms race with any country.

“China’s necessary military capability development is fully necessary to protect its legitimate national security interests. China’s power growth is the growth of peaceful power,” he said Russia Today, Wednesday (20/10/2021).

He added that no country should fight Chinese forces if they do not threaten Beijing’s sovereignty.

Wang claimed the hysteria over China’s hypersonic rocket launches was simply a US attempt to find another excuse to expand its military might and seek absolute security advantage.

He said US officials are creating their own narrative by talking about China’s technological advances while ignoring the fact that Washington has the world’s largest and most advanced nuclear arsenal and must invest trillions of dollars in increasing the nuclear triad – a reference to the three US methods of deploying nuclear weapons: from the ground, submarine and air.

Wang added that the US continues to push for its cold war mentality, and its lack of commitment to the nuclear disarmament treaty. He noted Washington’s withdrawal from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty and the Intermediate-Range Missile Treaty.

After reports emerged on Saturday that China had tested a hypersonic missile that circumnavigated the globe in August, Robert Wood, America’s disarmament ambassador, said Washington was deeply concerned.
