The United States Department of Justice has found no evidence of widespread electoral fraud that could change the outcome of the presidential election. Justice Minister William Barr said that in an interview with Tuesday AP.
According to a reporter from CNN Barr arrived at the White House Tuesday afternoon (local time) to meet with Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. The legal team of incumbent President Donald Trump left shortly afterwards in a statement know that Barr’s Ministry investigation is incomplete. The team also states that many of the “evidence” provided has not been investigated.
According to Barr, the FBI and federal prosecutors have investigated specific cases, but they did not provide enough evidence for any other election outcome. “So far we have not seen any fraud on a scale that could have changed the election results.”
Barr’s statements are remarkable, because until now he has always rallied behind President Trump. The latter insists that there must have been fraud in the election, which was won by his Democratic opponent Joe Biden.
