After being infected corona virus, immunity is still questionable. Until now no one has been able to confirm how long and whether after being exposed to Corona automatically becomes immune and will not be infected again at a later date.
However, recently an expert from the United States (US) explained that immunity in Corona cured patients can occur even up to 1 year. Why is it called that?
Dr Scott Gottlieb told CNBC on Monday that he believes that most people are affected corona virus will have immunity ‘at some level’.
“Now how long the immunity lasts, how strong the immunity is, we don’t know. Maybe it won’t last long in certain people. Maybe not that strong, so you can get re-infected but maybe not that sick,” Scott explained, quoted from CNBC.
Gottlieb, a former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, responded to warnings issued last week by the World Health Organization regarding emerging immunity. “Maybe your case will have a period of immunity that lasts from six to 12 months. It will vary a lot. Some people have lower immunity, some people have less,” continued Gottlieb.
However, WHO itself has not confirmed that post-recovery patient immunity to the Corona virus will emerge. No evidence has been found to date.
“There is currently no evidence that people have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies protected from second infection, “WHO wrote in a scientific report dated April 24, quoted from CNBC.
