Sergio Ermotti will remain as head of UBS until the end of October. What he says about a job at the top of the arch rival.
Last Thursday’s media conference held Sergio Ermotti covered about his future plans – everything about handing over the team to the designated UBS CEO Ralph Hamers went out, he didn’t want to speak. It is therefore also unclear whether he will be turning his back on the largest Swiss bank in November, or whether he could remain in an advisory role or even as a board member.
The best bank in Switzerland
But he was unable to put a stop to speculation: for example, the scenario that he would switch to Credit Suisse (CS) and there to President Urs Rohner could follow. Ermotti told the newspapers of the media house “CH Media” (Item payable): «It is not an issue for me. For me, UBS is the best bank in Switzerland. »
But things stay in the flow. At CS, Rohner is after the spying affair, the ex-CEO Tidjane Thiam in February cost the office, also in criticism. On April 30, the general assembly will take place there, at which the president must stand for re-election. The next few weeks will show how many shareholders are against it.
