UQTR Enrollment Reaches Record High, Especially Among International Students

In total, 14,341 people are currently attending UQTR, or 3.7% more than on the same date last year. This progression is evident in the first cycle (+2.8%) and, even more pronounced, in the second (+5.5%) and third (+9.1%) cycles. Full-time students (9,518) are also much more numerous (+8.4%), while a decrease is observed (-4.5%) for part-time registrations (4,823).

The appeal of UQTR outside the country is once again confirmed with significant growth of 22.8% in registrations among international students. The latter, numbering 3,345 (including permanent residents), mainly come from Senegal, Cameroon, Morocco, Ivory Coast, France, Tunisia, Algeria, the Democratic Republic from Congo, Burkina Faso and Haiti.

The statistics mentioned above were collected the day after the deadline for withdrawing from courses without mention in the university file and giving rise to the cancellation of tuition fees. According to this data, the most popular fields of study this quarter,UQTRare administrative sciences, health sciences, human sciences and educational sciences.

Regional campuses

In addition to its main campus in Trois-Rivières, UQTR offers programs in its campus regional from Drummondville, Joliette, L’Assomption, Quebec, Terrebonne and Longueuil. This quarter, 1,164 students are registered in Drummondville (- 11.1%), 540 in Joliette (+ 56.1%), 227 in L’Assomption (+ 20.7%), 421 in Quebec (- 5 .2%), 114 in Terrebonne (- 26.5%) and 441 in Longueuil (- 3.9%).

Final assessment of fall 2023

A recent compilation of the University’s attendance statistics shows that 15,651 students were registered at UQTR at the end of last fall, which constitutes an increase of 2.9% compared to the previous year (fall 2022).

Today, UQTR is holding an open house on its Trois-Rivières campus, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will also be possible to visit the Drummondville campus on Wednesday, February 7 in the evening (from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.).
