Updated Volkswagen Tiguan 2020 – Kolesa.ru – automotive magazine

Fresh spy photos of the crossover were published this week, allowing you to get the most complete picture of how it will change after the update.

The second generation Tiguan is available since 2016. The day before yesterday there was a spy photo of low quality, which captured a crossover without camouflage during a company photo shoot. However, it was a Tiguan in the R-Line configuration, today we will consider the basic version. As it has already become clear, the front part will be noticeably updated: the radiator grill will become a little larger in height, and it will be made visually combined with headlights, like on other new Volkswagen crossovers. The front optics have a new shape, reminiscent of the new Golf, and the original LED filling with a pair of L-shaped elements in each headlight. The lower air intake in the bumper will become slightly wider, and a chrome molding will pass through it in the center.

The sidewalls, in all likelihood, will not change, but new optics will appear behind. It will retain its shape, while the LED elements will be slightly updated: instead of horizontal stripes, vertical quadrangular segments will appear. The bumper will also change slightly, in the lower part of which there will be a chrome molding, turning into an imitation of exhaust pipes. Real pipes, like many other new models of the German concern, are now hidden under the bumper. Also, a new brand emblem will appear on the car, and the letter designation of the model will most likely be located in the center of the trunk lid.

It is not yet known what the changes will be in the technical part, but hybrid modifications can be expected. And certainly there will be a powerful version of the Tiguan R, equipped with a gasoline 2-liter turbo engine with more than 300 hp, 4Motion all-wheel drive and a DSG robotic gearbox.

The premiere of the novelty is expected next month at the Geneva Motor Show.

Today in Russia, the most affordable Tiguan is estimated at 1,539,000 rubles (1.4 TSI MT, 125 hp, front-wheel drive). The 150-horsepower version with all-wheel drive and DSG will cost at least 1,799,000 rubles. At the top of the current gamut is the 220-horsepower 2.0 TSI 4Motion DSG for 2,689,000 rubles.

Recall, recently appeared new photos of the Volkswagen Tayron coupe-like crossover.
