List (non-exhaustive) of reopening dates for New York museums
- The MoMA will reopen on August 27, 2020.
- The Whitney Museum will reopen on September 3, 2020.
- The New York City Museum will welcome its visitors on August 27, 2020.
- The September 11, 2001 museum will symbolically open its doors on September 11, 2020 for the families of the victims of the attack. The general public will be welcomed from September 12, 2020.
- El Museo del Barrio will reopen on September 12, 2020. This small museum needs support more than ever. Hispanic and Latino culture is now part of New York’s DNA. This museum is full of nuggets to explore without moderation.
- The museum Guggenheim will reopen between September 30 and October 2, 2020 for its members. The general public will be invited from October 3, 2020.
- For the collection of the Frick Museum, it will be necessary to wait until 2021 because the historical museum is under renovation. In the meantime, it is the old Whitney building on Madisson avenue (the Marcel Breuer Building) that will house the Frick collection with a library open to the public and researchers.

What to know to organize your visits to museums in New York
