From May 11 to July 20, 2020, 21,594 Covid19 screening tests were carried out in Saône-et-Loire. 164 people tested positive and 968 identified as contact cases.

On July 21, according to the regional health agency, 11 people with the Covid19 virus were still hospitalized in hospitals and clinics in Saône-et-Loire. One patient was taken care of in intensive care, 1 person was still followed in follow-up and rehabilitation care. Since the start of the epidemic, 769 people had returned home after being hospitalized for Covid 19. In Saône-et-Loire, 201 people have died in hospitals as a result of Covid 19.

According to the epidemiological point of Public Health France of July 17, 2020, in Saône-et-Loire, 52 accommodation establishments for the elderly and dependent (EHPAD) had reported at least one case of Covid 19 between the 1is March and July 16. Over this same period, 508 residents and 381 staff were confirmed cases of Covid 19. Ninety-two residents had died of Covid 19 in the EHPAD of Saône-et-Loire on July 15.

The virus is still circulating. In order to limit the risks of a resumption of the epidemic, the wearing of a general public mask is made compulsory by decree n ° 2020-884 of July 17, 2020 in all closed public places, in addition to barrier gestures, as of July 20. Thus, anyone 11 years of age or over must wear a mask in closed public places.
