Unveiling Apple’s Tricks: Analyzing the Truth Behind the Keynote

hello. Jongcheol Lee’s tricky IT, it’s been two days since the Apple event took place. Apple always uses a few tricks in its keynotes to cleverly hide the truth, and today I will dig into that information. It’s not all bad news. There is also a lot of good news.

First, let’s talk about the infuse glass. Apple kept this story simple and moved on. The rear glass of the 15 regular series models is infused glass, or in English, it is called color-infused glass. What this means is that the glass is also dyed. In fact, most of the rear glass has been transparent so far. That’s why there is a sense of depth, but on the contrary, this time, colored glass was used and the entire design was made into a single material – this is the story.

And in the 15 regular series, there was a lot of talk about 24MP high-definition photos and things like that. This is the 2x zoom that was originally in the Pro. Apple has a unique arrangement of camera pixels. Originally, if 48 million pixels were arranged in RGBW or something like that, Apple arranged the pixels in RRRR, GGGG, etc. This way, when you zoom twice, you will get a picture with no loss at all. It’s good when zooming in and also in low light. So, there are modes called optical zoom level quality zoom. This is just digital zoom. Because the pixel arrangement is unique, the picture comes out like an optical zoom. In fact, optical zoom is only available on the Pro model.

Now, the contact poster feature. Please prepare in advance. Actually, this is an iOS 17 feature that was already revealed at WWDC. You make a call to another iPhone. Then your poster will appear to that person. If you took a great photo in portrait mode, you can add that photo. You could set it to something like a caricature or a painting. This will be a mode where you can show your identity. For reference, I had a CT scan for plastic surgery consultation. Now when you answer my phone you will receive my 3D face. Now, please remember that from now on, contacts can be exchanged between iPhones just by name dropping and holding the phone.

Now, let’s talk about fine woven. This was talked about as if it were amazing, but a material called Alcantara was already released in 2009. It is a leather-like product made from fiber. Very thin threads are twisted to create a velvet-like material. This material is resistant to moisture and is good for the environment, so it is often used on steering wheels in super cars. It’s even more expensive than leather. I think fine woven is probably a similar material to this Alcantara. They said they had achieved 0 carbon footprint. Alcantara already achieved zero carbon footprint in 2009. That’s not surprising at all. I wish they wouldn’t use that as an excuse to raise the price.

Now, Qi2 support. Everyone, charge your iPhone a lot with MagSafe. This time, with the change to USB-C, it was decided to introduce a wireless standard as well. I don’t know why this wasn’t widely promoted, but AirPod Pro and Apple Watch can now be charged by disconnecting electricity from the iPhone. These portable products will also support the Qi2 standard in the future. Qi, it is mainly called ‘Chi’ abroad. When we say it is long, it is long. This is the name of the overseas wireless charging standard, and Qi2 supports magnets like MagSafe. So, in the future, it is expected that Qi2 chargers will be able to charge AirPod Pro 2, Apple Watch, and, broadly speaking, even iPhone without speed restrictions. So, Apple has finally stopped selling chargers – you can think of it this way. You can just use something from another company. QCY is good these days. I suspect that QCY will come up with a product that does everything.

Now, let’s talk about the iPhone Pro. Now, the story that I spent the most time on at the event. It’s a titanium frame. And I also told you that there is aluminum in the inner layer. So each was reduced by 19g, making the Pro model 187g and the Pro Max model 221g. Originally it was 206g and 240g. It decreased a lot. However, there is one thing that Apple did not reveal. Because the overall bezel has been reduced, the width and height have also decreased slightly. It decreased by about 1 millimeter. However, the thickness of both went from 7.85mm to 8.25mm. So, I crumpled it a little bit inside like this. Anyway, please remember that it has become thicker.

Okay, and the price didn’t go up – well, let me put it this way, the 14 Pro Max model had a 128GB option. I got rid of this. Starting from 256. So in the end, even people who only need 1.28 have to buy 256. For some reason, I expect that the pro model will also be released starting with 256 next year. In the end, the effect was to raise prices.

Now, let me just talk about the Apple Watch. We have stated several times that on-device Siri is now possible. What this means is that Siri will work even if you go to a place without internet access. It is called on-device because it is all processed internally. But all commands work. You can only do what you can understand with internal information. How much did I sleep last night? How full is the health ring? How much is your blood sugar? This is the only thing you can ask. How is the current weather? These questions can only be answered when connected to the Internet. So it won’t work.

Well, this is the information that Apple did not disclose for now. I will post it again as an article after I find out more information, so please refer to our site as well. Until next time, subscribe, like, and set notifications.
