A group of tourists were surprised when their hair stood up in a strange phenomenon when they went to the Gobi Desert in Mongolia.

And the clip circulating on social media showed that tourists were trying to take cover in their parked cars in the desert, for fear of being struck by a thunderbolt.

The tourists expected a lightning strike, because the rise of their hair to the top is a sign of saturation in the air with static electricity charges, and that these charges are a sign of an imminent lightning strike that may strike them and possibly eliminate them.
