Unusual find: white orca captured on video in Alaska

Strange things continue to happen in 2020. In the waters of Alaska, an unusual specimen of a completely white killer whale was captured. The cetacean is a young male that was caught swimming with two other adults, near some islands.

The video and photos were captured on August 7 on an excursion organized by Alaska Sea Adventures. The owner of the tourism agency, Dennis Rogers, recounted this experience to a local radio station: “When the killer whales dive, they disappear and are generally very difficult to follow. In this case, however, we were able to see it even at more than three meters deep “.

The author of the video was the student of marine biology, Stephanie Hayes, who assured that “I saw a glow under the water and I realized that it was a white whale. We were all amazed, with our mouths open. It was incredible.”

In this case, it is not considered to be an albino killer whale, as it does not have pink eyes and its skin is not completely white. According to experts, there are about 10 white killer whales in the world, a figure that gives more value to the video and photos of this specimen.
