The epidemic rebound with the fifth wave and the end-of-year celebrations have not not made it possible to achieve the collection objectives expected over the period.
Without a significant mobilization now and a significant increase in the state of stocks in the coming days, the risk is major for the care of patients.
Things to know before donating
The EFS specifies that the health or vaccination pass is not necessary to donate blood. He also specifies that you should not be fasting and drink well before and after your donation. Finally, to participate in the collection, you must feel in good health, be between 18 and 70 years old, weigh more than 50 kilos and not have been transfused.
In France, the needs to treat the sick require 10,000 blood donations per day. And this number tends to increase. In 2020, 1,562,086 people donated their blood, plasma or platelets.
