Friday afternoon saw the start of the holidays for many holiday-ready Norwegians, and it has rarely been said that so many will spend the summer on holiday in Norway.
Although many people have probably already packed both a sun hat and sun cream in their beach bag, it may appear that it will have to stay inside for a couple more days, according to the meteorologists.
Soon the rain will come:- Long awaited
– Unfortunately, we are entering a period of rainfall. Today it is not too bad here in Western Norway, but there is a chance of some rain showers during the day. This applies to the whole of Western Norway – Rogaland and Møre and Romsdal. It is also possible that there will be some thunderstorms, especially in Møre and Romsdal, but so far no danger warning has been issued, meteorologist Aslaug Skålevik Valved at the Meteorological Institute can tell Dagbladet.
Furthermore, she adds that a rain warning has been issued in Trøndelag, where it is expected that 40-60mm of rain may fall, locally.

– But will this decrease in the coming week?
– It is a bit too early to answer, but some low pressure activity and falling temperatures are expected in the future. Let’s hope it’s short-lived. This applies primarily to southern Norway, and it is long-awaited for some farmers, the agricultural industry and the like, she says and adds:
– Next week will probably also be quite wet in Western Norway. It will not rain 24 hours a day, and there will be periods of lingering weather… but it will be a more cloudy type of weather with temperatures as low as 15-16 degrees. Let’s hope it turns around, and then there’s probably a hope that next weekend won’t be quite so bad.

Eastern Norway is not a weather winner this weekend either. According to Rafael Escobar Løvdal at the Meteorological Institute, there will also be some precipitation and thunderstorm activity this evening.
– Unfortunately, I cannot answer what the weather will be like over here next week. Right now I’m sitting down to print out a warning – there are reports of strong thunderstorms this evening and night to Sunday. Tomorrow there may also be a lot of rain in a short time, so I don’t quite know what the summer weather will be like yet.
