United Kingdom introduces quarantine measures for travelers from 8 June NOW

The UK will introduce quarantine measures on June 8 for all foreign tourists visiting the British Isles and returning British nationals, UK Home Secretary Priti Patel announced on Friday.

The measure is part of a new package of restrictions imposed by the country to prevent a second wave of contamination.

The measure requires travelers to be in self-imposed insulation for two weeks. Details of where they reside should be provided to UK authorities.

Travelers to the Irish islands are exempt from the rule, as are transport and healthcare workers. The British government expects tourists and British to go to their location by car and let others shop for them.

Anyone who violates the measures risks a fine of £ 1,000 (1,117 euros). Foreigners can also be expelled from the country. The insulation is checked by means of random checks.

British airlines disappointed

The measures are a slap in the face of British airlines. CEOs have issued several warnings in recent weeks of the “devastating economic blow” to their companies if the UK is locked.
