The idea had been in the air for some time and it has now been confirmed by the British government: from Monday the army will be deployed in the United Kingdom to supply petrol and diesel to petrol stations.
200 soldiers, including 100 truck drivers, are being requisitioned to meet the greatest needs of the country’s gas stations with army tank trucks. In addition, up to 300 foreign truck drivers will be allowed to drive tankers in the UK until the end of March.
