Geelong (Melbourne): The Netherlands started with a victory in the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup. They beat the UAE by three wickets in their first Group A match.

Beating first, United Arab Emirates Scored 111 points for the loss of eight wickets. Counterattacking, Holland scored the winning point with an extra ball.
