Unique advertising: 828 meter high building, flight attendant and airplane

The advertisement revolves around the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world at 828 meters. The tower is located in Dubai, where the Dubai Expo 2020 is currently being held. Emirates airline is trying to get people who travel to the world exhibition to book a ticket with them:

A similar ad from Emirates also went viral last summer. Stunt woman Nicole Smith-Ludvik then donned the uniform of an airline flight attendant and climbed to the top of the Burj Khalifa.

Flying slow

“We did it again, only better this time,” Emirates said of the ad that appeared last week. Smith-Ludvik again climbed the tallest building in the world, but this time also involved the world’s largest passenger aircraft.

An Airbus A380 was painted especially for the occasion in the colors of the Dubai Expo 2020 and flew around the tower, at exactly the same height (828 meters).

To make good images, the aircraft had to fly at a low speed of 145 knots (268 kilometers per hour). Normally, the aircraft flies at a speed of 480 knots (888 kilometers per hour). You can see how difficult it was to film the commercial properly in this video:

The aircraft, which can accommodate more than 850 passengers, eventually flew eleven laps around the Burj Khalifa, after which stuntwoman Smith-Ludvik waved off the plane. Emirates owns 115 of these massive aircraft, which are less fuel efficient than twin-engine aircraft. The Airbus A380 – nicknamed superjumbo – has four engines.

Lack of customers

The device is now no longer produced due to a lack of customers. When the corona crisis started, many airlines left the plane on the ground. It is intended for long flights that were performed less due to the corona measures.
