1. FC Union Berlin will start the 2021/22 season in the first round of the DFB Cup at Türkgücü Munich. This resulted in the drawing of the 32 first round games as part of the ARD sports show this Sunday.
As usual, a total of 64 teams will compete in the first round of the cup. Ex-professional Thomas Broich, who took on the role of “Losfee” alongside presenter Stephanie Müller-Spirra and DFB Vice President Peter Frymuth, assigned each of the 32 participants from the amateur pot to a team from the professional pot.
“We are facing extremely ambitious opponents who have clear ambitions for the second division. So we will be challenged in the first round, but we want to master this task and move into the second round, ”said Oliver Ruhnert, managing director of professional football at 1. FC Union Berlin, commenting on the upcoming cup duel.
The first round of the DFB Cup will take place from August 6th, 2021 to August 9th, 2021, the exact date will take place in the coming weeks.
