Unión Comercio returns to League 1 after winning the revalidation

After being relegated in 2019 and having to struggle for three seasons in League 2, trade union was happy to return to First division due to its success in revalidation against ayacucho.

El Poderoso del Alto Mayo had made the difference with a 3-0 first leg victory, while this Sunday they rallied with a 2-1 defeat at the Ciudad de Cumaná stadium to materialize their goal.

Héctor Zeta put his side ahead after 11 minutes to widen the gap on aggregate and start to feel the goal was getting closer. Similarly, Los Zorros served before the break with a goal from Italo Regalado and a new strike from the 28-year-old striker midway through the second half.

No miracle instead for those led by Édgar Ospina: overcoming the difference was impossible for them and for this reason they had resigned themselves to descending to the second category of Peruvian football.

Thus, Ayacucho, who finished third in the standings accumulated in 2020 for winning Phase 2, accompanies Carlos Stein and Universidad San Martín to League 2. While Unión Comercio joins Cusco FC, promoted for being champions in the recent season .
