Unilever (UNVR) and the Strategy to Attract Former Gojek Officials

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – PT Unilever Indonesia, Tbk. (UNVR) has a new ambition to develop the beauty and body care business. The ambition is trying to be realized by attracting back his talents who had served at PT Applications Karya Anak Bangsa alias Gojek.

Just for the record, during January-June 2021, Unilever still experienced a 7.32 percent year-on-year (yoy) decline in revenue, to be precise, from Rp21.77 trillion to Rp20.17 trillion. The company’s net profit even slipped 15.85 percent to Rp3.04 trillion, from the realization of the same period the previous year which amounted to Rp.3.61 trillion.

However, UNVR seems to be trying to bring new hope. Efforts were made to strengthen the Beauty and Personal Care (BPC) division, which is the largest division in the company’s portfolio.

In this case, UNVR will propose Ainul Yaqin as director for the Beauty and Personal Care division at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on November 1, 2021.

Previously, Ainul Yaqin was the Group Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of PT Applications Karya Anak Bangsa (Gojek), leading all marketing organizations for the Indonesian and international markets.

Ainul in fact, before becoming CMO at Gojek, was a personnel and senior official at UNVR.
