Unihertz Jelly Star: The Smallest Smartphone with Android 13

If you are looking for a compact smartphone today, the smallest ones have a display of around 4.7 inches. But if you’re looking for something really compact with an up-to-date operating system, there’s practically nothing on the market. The Unihertz brand, which announced the smallest smartphone in the world with Android 13, wants to take advantage of the gaps in the market. The phone does have a number of compromises, but it is one of the few that actually fits in the palm of your hand.

Unihertz Jelly Star is a real smartphone “little one”. We are talking about a device that is 9.5 centimeters in height and less than five centimeters in width. All thanks to the fact that the phone is equipped with a 3″ LCD display with a resolution of 854 × 480 pixels. The thickness of the phone is 19 mm and the phone weighs 116 grams with the battery. The battery with a capacity of 2,000 mAh should last a day on a single charge.

Performance is under the thumb of the 6nm Mediatek Helio G99, which complements 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. You can also expand the internal memory with microSD cards. There is an 8MP selfie camera on the front, the dominant photo module on the partially semi-transparent cover, which includes a 48MP sensor with LED and a fingerprint reader. On the back, you will also find blinking strips of LED diodes in the shape of the letters C and U, which the phone borrowed from the Unihertz Luna model. For example, they notify you of new notifications, a delivered text message, an incoming call, or they blink according to the music playing. Inside the phone runs pure Android 13.
