Support the implementation of the education component of the UNICEF cooperation program with specific responsibility for technical contribution to planning, administration, implementation, monitoring and reporting on education programs.

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Field Office, Kaya and the technical supervision of the Head of the Education section, the official will:

  • Ensure the availability of accurate, complete and up-to-date information necessary for the effective planning, implementation and management of education programs, including gender disaggregation.
  • Improve the effectiveness of projects through close collaboration with partners, including monitoring UNICEF contributions, updating information on local conditions and resources, and providing technical support in areas of development. cooperation agreed.
  • Ensure the implementation of the components of the annual work plans. This includes the provision of technical support and advice to implementing partners and other education actors, capacity building and advocacy, support in identifying the necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring that the use of resources is in accordance with United Nations regulations and the recommendation for change or reorientation of intervention strategies and approaches, as appropriate.

Analyze data collected through program monitoring and provide information for the preparation of progress reports, donor reports and annual Field Office reports and input to section and country office reports.

  • Contribute to the Education Section’s efforts to identify strategic advocacy opportunities and recommend strategies to support effective advocacy.
  • Ensure that effective communication and networking is developed and maintained through partnership and collaboration.
  • Ensure good coordination with the government counterpart to exchange information on the implementation and status of education projects, on the movement and distribution of supplies and on the situation of children outside the school circuit.
  • Support coordination at the regional level with the Regional Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DREPPNF) and members of the humanitarian and development community, including NGOs, other United Nations agencies and in the exchange information relating to the education sector.

To qualify as a champion for each child, you must:

  • A university degree (Bachelor) in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, social sciences, sociology or another technical field relevant to education.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in planning, managing and / or researching programs in education is required.
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
  • Relevant experience within an agency or organization of the United Nations system is considered an asset.
  • Experience in designing and implementing education programs is required.
  • Fluency in French (spoken and written).
  • A good working knowledge of English is required.
  • Knowledge of local languages ​​would be an asset.
