As part of the actions emanating from the appointment that the city of Guadalajara received as UNESCO World Book CapitalYesterday the second delivery of support from the 2023 Editorial Development Call was made.
This call aimed to strengthen Jalisco publishers and promote the entrepreneurship of local talent.
In a joint effort carried out by the Economic Development Coordination and the Community Construction Coordination, economic incentives were given to 14 publishers – up to 100 thousand pesos in non-refundable funds – for the publication of 14 new books.
The beneficiary publishers, the titles and authors that will publish are:
1. Harlequin Editions – “Reward for good and punishment for evil”by Refugio Barragán de Toscano (novel).
2. Imprint Publishing House – “The minor arts” and “The arts of the people” by William Morris and Alexia Halteman (essay/translation).
3. Mantis Publishers – “Zurcido invisible”by Carmen Villoro (poetry).
4. When Gravitating Rotating – “Brief Literature Yearbook”by various authors.
5. Typo Taller – “Harsh cry of a broken rope”by Balam Rodrigo (poetry).
6. Paradise Lost – “The Whisper of the Stars”by Irma Gallo (novel).
7. Petra Ediciones – “Spiral star”by Jill Hartley (children/arts).
8. Dorsal Spine – “Frost Museum”by Susan Elmslie (poetry).
9. Comala Graph – “Monarch, the miracle of the traveling butterfly”by Ceci Martínez Calixtro (disclosure/graphics).
10. Somersault – “The grandchildren of war”by Vania Corua and Thania Liz Rojo (children’s literature).
11. Architectonics – “Analysis of collective housing in GDL”by several authors (disclosure).
12. Invisible Books – “The man who”by Beatriz Ortiz and Jorge Díaz Barajas (poetry).
13. House of the Wizard – “Open the doors in the morning and see the hummingbird”by Raúl Bañuelos (poetry).
14. Boredom of Life – “Serious material (everyday autopsies)”by Jis (narrative/graphic).
