Unemployment insurance: another unjust and brutal reform!

After having limited the openings of rights to compensation and reduced by 16% on average the allowance of job seekers, the government continues methodically to attack the beneficiaries of unemployment insurance.

Consequently, from February 1, the duration of unemployment benefit will be reduced by 25% with a floor of 6 months. Thus, a jobseeker who would be entitled to 12 months of compensation with the current rules, will only be able to receive unemployment benefit for 9 months. For those aged 55 and over, the maximum duration of compensation will be reduced from 36 to 27 months.

Presented as a modulation of the rules according to economic activity because an end-of-rights supplement may be paid in the event of a degraded situation on the labor market, for the UNSA, it is quite simply a reduction in rights which is Implementation.

The UNSA recalls that placing the responsibility for recruitment difficulties on job seekers is a mistake, even a diversion. Companies must increase salaries and improve working conditions, and the training of the unemployed furthest from employment must be amplified!

This attitude of the government testifies to the contempt it has for job seekers while this new salvo of lowering of rights will lead more active people to precariousness and poverty.

The UNSA will remain mobilized and determined to combat this iniquitous reform.
