Understanding the Logics of Action in Family Care Work: Insights from INED Mondays Logo Intervention

INED Mondays Logo The intervention will focus on the different logics of reception of public action mechanisms which organize, and above all monetize, the care work carried out by family caregivers. Based on François Dubet’s sociology of experience analysis grid, three salient logics of action corresponding to the modes of investment in family care work by caregivers are distinguished. Differentiated logics of action allow us to think differently about the reception of public action and the categories it mobilizes. These categories of public action include aspects of identity and regulation. The empirical results which serve as the basis for this intervention were acquired as part of recent research with around sixty caregivers of elderly people experiencing loss of autonomy or people with disabilities.
