Ukrainian Official Denies Russian Defense Ministry’s Claims of Counterattack and Kahovka Power Plant Explosion

A recent statement by the Russian Defense Ministry about repelling a Ukrainian counterattack is not true, the official said.

“I don’t see any point in commenting on these sick people, that they themselves are talking about our actions in one direction or another out of fear and believe that it is a counterattack,” declared Danilov.

“When we launch a counterattack, everyone will know about it. They will see it,” he pointed out.

Commenting on the Russian side’s claims that Ukraine is to blame for the explosion of the Kahovka hydroelectric power plant (HEP), Danilov emphasized that it would be “physically impossible” for Ukrainian soldiers to carry out such an explosion.

“The shootings were not recorded at that time. Our soldiers, let’s say, citizens, were not present in this territory. This territory has been occupied by Russian terrorists since March of last year, to our great regret,” continued Danilov.

“And it was the Russian terrorists who were there, it was they who controlled this piece of our land. Therefore, to say that we did it in their presence is the most complete theater of the absurd,” summed up the secretary of the council.
