The units of the Southern Group of Russian troops have struck
The likely date for the end of the war in Ukraine is close to Russian symbolism and is 2025 (the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II), but there is a nuance.
This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2014-2019, General Viktor Muzhenko, quoted by the Ukrainian publication “Focus”.
He believes that the current situation will persist for a long time. According to him, after a year “we will be somewhere on the final line before the end of the war”. The former chief of the General Staff suggested that political deals could influence the process, including elections.
“Perhaps to change the perception of our political leadership about the current situation. I don’t know,” Muzhenko says.
He commented on the Kremlin’s global plans in the war against Ukraine. According to him, the Russians have several options for further actions. They can seek to completely occupy the entire left-bank Ukraine or go on the offensive in a southern direction.
Muzhenko hopes that Russian forces will not be able to accomplish this task. “I very much hope that this scenario will not come true,” the general adds.
Ukrainian troops have lost up to 1,500 people in battles near the town of Bakhmut over the past week. This was stated by the former officer of the People’s Militia of the LPR Andrey Marochko, reported the world publications.
“Over the past week, Ukrainian fighters have lost about 1,500 people killed and another 3,000 wounded. About 20% of the injured were seriously injured,” he says.
The southern group of troops of the Russian armed forces in the Donetsk direction has destroyed more than 400 Ukrainian fighters and foreign mercenaries in 24 hours. This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Russia, quoted by world publications.
“In the Donetsk direction, the enemy’s losses per day amounted to more than 400 Ukrainian servicemen and mercenaries,” the department specified.

In addition to manpower, the opponent also loses technique. Russian units hit four armored fighting vehicles and the same number of pickup trucks, 10 cars, a Grad MLRS and a D-20 howitzer.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military has lost up to 40 soldiers, two pickup trucks and a D-20 howitzer in the South-Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions.
