Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stressed the importance of considering peace in Ukraine at this time with Russia.

Kuleba also noted that although voices are being raised for Ukraine to make concessions, as Kiev has interpreted the words of Pope Francis, the situation on the ground remains “stable” and Ukrainian forces are “repelling Russian attacks.”
Regarding the political international landscape, he said that the Ukrainian government is waiting to see the results of the United States election “to understand the true positions of former President Donald Trump”.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi first announced his peace formula at the G20 summit in November 2022. He called for the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the full withdrawal of Russian troops.

In the early months of the war, when a suitable mediator for peace negotiations was still being sought, Switzerland was among the possibilities as a country with neutral status and even expressed a willingness to do so. However, because of the financial and humanitarian support that Switzerland provides to Ukraine, as well as because of joining the Western sanctions, Russia rejected this possibility.
