The Washington Post revealed in a report, Thursday, that the long-awaited counter-offensive by the Ukrainian army against Russian forces “has already begun.”
The newspaper quoted 4 Ukrainian military sources as saying that the Kiev forces have intensified their attacks on the front line in the southeast of the country, marking the start of the counterattack.
It stated that the four military personnel spoke on condition of anonymity, because they are not authorized to discuss developments on the battlefield publicly.
The Washington Post considered that the start of the counterattack opens a new phase in the war raging since February 2022, aimed at restoring Ukraine to the areas seized by Russia, and retaining Western material and military support.
